Trekking in the Himalaya

Nepal is well known as one of the best destination in the world for enjoying the real beauty of nature through trekking. The trail into the interior parts of the country follows ancient foot-trails which meander through scenic river-banks, intricately terraced fields and the forested ridges connecting pictures hamlets and mountain villages. Trekkers can walk along the rough but beautiful trails or virgin tracks in the lap of green and friendly looking hills. The rhododendron-filled, green, dark and deep forests with different seasonal flowers blossoming can catch anyone's eye as can the scattered residential cottages, domestic and forest animals, variety of birds, both Hindus and Buddhist temples, mountains, breath-taking landscape, and above all warm greeting from smiling local people. The highly developed and well-defined trails have been used for centuries. Trekking in Nepal is an all season activity. It is possible at any time of the year depending on where one wishes to go. However, the most popular season are spring (February-May) and autumn (September-November). Even during the monsoon season (June- August), you can trek in the rain- shadow areas north of the Himalaya like Mustang, Upper Manang and Dolpa.

Everest or upper Khumbu Region, the second most popular trekking area in Nepal, is the home to the world's highest mountains including Mt. Everest (8850m), Cho Oyn (8153m), Makalu (8470m), Ama Dablam (6856m) and many other countless peaks. The region lures thousands of trekkers and mountaineers to explore high mountain valleys, high passes, Buddhist culture and stunning Sherpa villages.

Annapurna region is one of the best areas for trekking in Nepal- offering a variety of excellent treks of all grades and styles. According to a recent survey by Modern Maturity (USA) Annapurna region has been recognized as one of the world’s best trekking trails. More than 50,000 tourists annually visit this area.

Arrow Langtang Region
Langtang
This region is considered one of the most popular narrow mountain valleys at the base of central Himalaya. . Located north of the Kathmandu Valley, the route goes through traditional and ethnic villages and virgin forests on the way to the peaks of Langtang-Lirung. The scenery here is spectacular, and the treks are more adventurous as the area is visited by a few numbers of tourists.
